Hello and welcome to this week's Healthy Life Network. A week of proud dad moments, paths crossing in the Top End, and the countdown to HOCATT™ well and truly on. Let's get into it.
Family & Personal Highlights
Max sent through the first draft of an essay this week and asked me to read it over. I did, and honestly, it was a joy... he writes better than I ever could, and it had me reaching for the dictionary more than once. Comes with its own kind of pride, watching that. And there's a lovely bit of timing unfolding right now... Ella and Tallam are making their way to Darwin, hoping to catch Max there as he transits through on his way to Timor-Leste with Katie. Sibling paths crossing in the Top End, purely by good fortune. Back home, the property development is edging forward too, with an enquiry lodged this week on the garage conversion out the back.
Professional & Business Updates
OsteoStrong™ Hobart
We've wrapped up our run with Corporate Communications after a solid stretch of print advertising... good exposure, good brand familiarity, and now it's time to redirect that spend elsewhere. We have new staff and continue to recieve new members.
Longevity Lab
HOCATT™ is genuinely close now... first and only unit in the area, due to land around the end of the month. Expressions of interest will open soon, so keep an eye out. Behind the scenes, the brand kit is now locked into Canva with Jen's team, so everything from socials to print will finally sing from the same songbook. And Sarah has been developing a new "Calm & Reset" offering to bring more people through the door, with some Breath Lab elements likely folded in alongside it.
Podcast/YouTube Highlight
This week's episode, EP452: Exploring Coffee's Impact on Gut Health, is for anyone who loves their morning cup. And interestingly, it's not about the caffeine. Have a listen... it might just galvanise your resolve to keep having that cuppa.

I also had the chance to sit down with Guy Leech and Paul Wigger this week, the pair behind Next50, and there's a podcast and video from that conversation on the way. A quick note of full disclosure: I'm a shareholder in Next50 and listed as a named expert on their site, so I do have a financial interest in any sales that come through my link. That's not something I'll hide... I only bring it to you because I genuinely believe in what they've built. Quiz Corner
Last week I asked: what are three substances that naturally decline as we age, where supplementation may help? My answer: CoQ10, NAD+, and collagen. CoQ10 sits inside our mitochondria helping produce cellular energy, and reasonable evidence points to benefits for cardiovascular and cellular health when levels are topped up. NAD+ is essential for energy metabolism and DNA repair and can decline sharply with age; NMN and NR are the usual way people supplement it, though the human evidence is still developing. And collagen, the scaffolding of our skin, joints and connective tissue, starts declining from our mid-20s, with decent evidence for skin elasticity and joint comfort when supplemented.
This week's question: what is photobiomodulation, and what are three things it's said to benefit?
Final Reflection
There's something grounding about a week like this one... a son's words on a page, a sister chasing a brother across the top of the country before he flies out, a delivery still weeks away but already changing how we think about what's possible at the Lab. Growth rarely announces itself. Most of the time, it's just steady.
Warm regards, Dr Warrick
