Hi {contactfield=firstname},

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

Hello and welcome,

Some weeks feel full — not rushed, not chaotic — just deeply satisfying.

This past week has been one of those.

A couple of busy days in clinic, but in a very different way.
Less pressure, fewer hours — and more opportunity to really connect with patients.

And that’s where the value is.

Not just getting through the work — but being present for it.

Family & Personal Highlights

It’s been a week of steady connection.

Time in clinic, time in the centre, and time staying connected with family — all of which matter.

There’s something about stepping back slightly from the volume of work that allows you to appreciate the moments more.

And that’s been a real highlight this week.

Professional & Business Updates

OsteoStrong Hobart

Downstairs continues to build beautifully.

Sean has stepped up in a meaningful way as assistant manager — particularly while we’ve had a brief time in Melbourne — and it’s been great to see him take ownership in that role.

At the same time:

• Miranda at the front desk has been fantastic
• Bec, Sarah, Kirsten and Paul continue to deliver exceptional support — thank you all
• And most importantly — our members are benefiting

That’s what it’s all about.

We’re also looking forward to catching up with Perry (master franchisor for Asia Pacific) while in Melbourne — an important opportunity to explore how we can continue to deliver OsteoStrong effectively for the Hobart community.

Longevity Labs

Upstairs is starting to gather real momentum.

We’re seeing:

• Increased enquiries
• More bookings
• A strong knock-on effect from the Open Day

Ella has been doing fantastic work alongside Sean and Sarah capturing content — and that’s starting to show.

We’re also beginning to shape something a little different…

👉 Dark Mofo IV Menu

Something interesting.
Something a little edgy.
Very much in keeping with the spirit of Dark Mofo.

Keep an eye out.....check out our FB page

Breathwork & What’s Emerging

Jen has been fantastic in gaining traction with breathwork — and we’re really looking forward to continuing to support her within Longevity Labs.

At the same time, I’ve been doing some thinking around:

👉 What does “best health support” really look like?

And that’s opened up an idea I’d genuinely value your input on.

👉 Please drop me a note with your thoughts — I’d really appreciate it.

A Thought — Post-Cancer Support Program

Almost like secondary prevention in heart disease — but applied to cancer.

I’m exploring whether we could build a structured offering for people post:

• Cancer surgery
• Chemotherapy
• Radiotherapy

With a focus on:

👉 recovery
👉 resilience
👉 secondary prevention

Potential components:

• Clinically guided nutrition — supporting tissue recovery
• Breathwork & meditation — supporting emotional resilience
• Strength training (OsteoStrong) — bone and muscle reconditioning
• VO₂ max testing & optimisation — improving functional capacity
• Targeted IV nutrient support (Vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, B12)
• Red light therapy
• Additional supportive therapies as the research flags

The aim:

👉 Not just recovery — but optimisation
👉 Reducing risk and aiming to prevent recurrence

I’d really value your thoughts on this...... please drop me an email

🎧 Podcast Highlight — This Week

👉 EP435: Talking Diabetes
https://drwarrickbishop.com/podcast/episode/1/ep435-talking-diabetes

This week’s episode dives into diabetes — one of the most common, yet often misunderstood, metabolic conditions.

We cover:

• What’s really driving it
• Why it matters beyond blood sugar
• Practical ways to think about management

As always — the aim is clarity.

C15 Fatty Acid — The Fatty15 Story

One of the most fascinating developments in nutrition at the moment is the emergence of C15 fatty acid — now being described as a potential essential nutrient.

And the story behind it is remarkable.

It actually starts with dolphins.

👉 I’d encourage you to watch this short TEDx talk and explore it for yourself:

Quiz Corner

Last Week’s Question

Name three medications that can impact bone health.

Answer:

Several medications can negatively affect bone density and increase fracture risk. Common examples include:

• Corticosteroids (e.g. prednisone)
• Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs)
• Certain hormone therapies (e.g. aromatase inhibitors)
• Some anticonvulsants

This Week’s Question

What is thalassemia — how is it diagnosed, and why can it be a problem?

Final Reflection

This week has been a good reminder:

There’s a difference between working hard…
and working well.

Fewer hours.
More presence.
Better connection.

Across clinic, business, and family — that shift makes all the difference.

And as things continue to build…

It’s a nice place to be.
