Hi {contactfield=firstname},

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

Hello & welcome,

Some weeks feel full — not chaotic, but full in a very constructive way.

Good conversations. New ideas. Momentum building quietly in the background.

This past week has definitely felt like one of those.

Family & Personal Highlights

It’s been a week of connection and progress.

I had a really good meeting with Sean on Friday, which was great to sit down and align properly. I’m genuinely enjoying seeing him step into his role and contribute in such a meaningful way.

We also had two really enjoyable evenings with Michael and Jen over the weekend — those moments of relaxed conversation and friendship are always grounding.

I made sure to drop in and see Dad as well, which is something I always value.

And I have to acknowledge Chelle, who continues to give everything to what we’re building — even while managing her own aches and pains. That quiet resilience doesn’t go unnoticed.

Professional & Community Updates

It’s been a particularly strong week professionally.

I had the chance to record a podcast with Jack Clifford on Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) — a fascinating therapy with real potential in supporting cardiovascular health. I’m really looking forward to sharing that episode soon.... stay tuned !

I also connected with a group in Queensland working on oxygen nanoparticle technology, discussing potential medical applications. It’s early days, but the possibilities are genuinely exciting..... think Oxygen water

On Thursday night, I spoke at the Hobart Orthopaedic Journal Club on:

Maximising outcomes in elective joint replacement

We explored:
• Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy
• The role of OsteoStrong in prehabilitation and rehabilitation
• How we can better support patients through these major procedures

It’s always rewarding to bridge practical clinical care with emerging technologies.

OsteoStrong Hobart

Downstairs, OsteoStrong continues to move forward really well.

The team have been pulling together beautifully, and I’m incredibly pleased with the energy and consistency we’re seeing.

Sean has been doing a terrific job.

And I’m particularly excited to now have Ella involved, helping with organic social media across OsteoStrong, Longevity Labs and Breath Labs. I think she brings a natural feel and authenticity that will really help us tell our story better.

Our message continues to evolve beyond bone density alone.

Yes, bone matters — but so do:

• Strength
• Balance
• Posture
• Confidence
• Independence

And that broader conversation is resonating more and more.

Longevity Labs & What’s Building

Upstairs, things continue to evolve.

We’re now working with Jen from Pivotal Wellbeing, bringing her expertise into what we’re developing as Breath Labs within our space.

This is something I’m genuinely excited about.

The ability to work directly on the nervous system through breath, alongside everything else we’re building, feels like a natural and powerful extension.

There’s a real sense that multiple pieces are starting to align.

New Projects & Collaborations

I’ve had a couple of really valuable conversations with Guy Leach this week.

One around Next 50, a supplement he is developing specifically for people as they age. I’ve had my first sample and I’m genuinely excited about its potential — more to come on that in the coming months.

We also spoke about the Younger Longer platform, which continues to build momentum.

Importantly, Guy was looking for a doctor to support the menopause space, and I was delighted to connect him with Dr Hannah Chapman — a friend, colleague and fantastic clinician who will bring real value in that area.

These sorts of connections are exactly what help build something meaningful.

Podcast Highlight – Episode 431

Cholesterol – What Are We Really Talking About?

One of the biggest challenges in this space is confusion.

What do we actually mean when we talk about cholesterol?

This episode is designed to simplify that conversation and provide a clearer starting point for understanding risk, testing, and treatment.

If you find it helpful, please share it — this is exactly the kind of foundational information that can make a real difference.

Also, check out this excellent conversation with Jason Kaplan on the benefits of exercise.

It’s a really practical and engaging discussion — well worth your time.

Please feel free to share — it’s an absolute cracker.

Chelation Therapy – Longevity Labs IV

Last week’s question:

What is chelation, and what metals is it commonly used to remove?

Answer:

Chelation therapy involves the use of specific agents to bind metals in the body so they can then be excreted.

Common targets include:
• Lead
• Mercury
• Arsenic
• Iron (in overload states)

There are well-established roles for chelation in cases of toxicity, and growing interest in broader applications.

If you think you may have been exposed to heavy metals over the years — whether through work, environment, or other sources — it may be worth exploring further.

Feel free to reach out to Longevity Labs IV and have a chat with our nurse, Sarah, to see whether a course of chelation may be appropriate for you.

We’ve been really pleased with some of the feedback from patients who have undertaken treatment — both in terms of experience and outcomes.

Quiz Corner

This week’s question:

What are four conditions that both humans and dogs can catch?

(Hint: think infections and shared environments)

We’ll unpack that next week.

Final Reflection

There’s a sense at the moment that things are building — not in a rushed way, but in a considered and aligned way.

Good people.
Good conversations.
Meaningful opportunities starting to connect.

And that’s exactly where I want to be.

Warm regards,
