Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
Hello & welcome,
Some weeks feel quietly productive.
Not dramatic. Not rushed. Just steady movement, meaningful conversations, and the sense that things are continuing to move forward in the right direction.
This past week felt like that, had a couple like that in fact in the last few weeks.
Family & Personal Highlights
It’s been a full and busy week, but a good one.
Chelle and I managed to sneak out for a simple date night at our favourite Mexican spot in North Hobart — those small moments together really do matter.
I’ve had the chance to stay in close contact with Max, Ella and Sean, which is always grounding. And this weekend marked a special milestone — Sean’s 30th birthday. It was lovely to catch up with him and see him surrounded by good friends at the start of what I know was a memorable evening.
We’ve also had a few social catch-ups through the week, which always help maintain perspective.
And behind the scenes, Chelle continues to do an extraordinary job keeping things moving across OsteoStrong and the Airbnb — often juggling more than most people realise.
Professional & Community Updates
It’s been a strong week professionally as well.
On Monday, I had the opportunity to present at St Luke’s on:
Maximising Your Elective Joint Replacement Surgery Journey
This was a really enjoyable session. We covered practical fundamentals such as smoking cessation, blood sugar control, and reducing hazards at home — but also explored the role of some of the technologies we’re working with at OsteoStrong.
In particular, we discussed:
• The use of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy mats, especially for higher-risk patients — to help heal and reduce inflammation
• The potential role of OsteoStrong as both prehabilitation and rehabilitation around joint replacement
It’s always satisfying to bridge common-sense medicine with practical tools that can support better outcomes.
On Tuesday, I also delivered a virtual presentation to 3 GP clinics in Devonport simultaneously, which was very well received even though the technology caused some significant issues — it’s great to continue building those connections.
OsteoStrong Hobart
Downstairs, OsteoStrong continues to build steadily.
The team are doing a fantastic job, and we’re continuing to see gradual, consistent traction rather than forced growth — which is exactly what we want.
Our message continues to evolve beyond bone density alone.
Yes, bone matters — but so do:
• Strength
• Balance
• Confidence
• Frailty prevention
• Independence
That broader conversation continues to resonate strongly.
We’re also actively working on refining our sales and marketing approach, and I’m excited to be bringing Ella into the mix to help with organic social media. I think she has a natural flair for it, and this should help us tell our story more authentically.
Longevity Labs & What’s Building
Upstairs, things continue to evolve.
We’re progressing the LLIV offering, expanding our team, and continuing to shape what this space becomes.
There’s a real sense that the pieces are beginning to align — thoughtfully rather than quickly.
New Projects – What’s Coming Next
I’ve also had the opportunity to become involved in two exciting projects alongside Guy Leach — many of you will know Guy as a world-class athlete and Ironman.
The first is a supplement called Next 50, which is being thoughtfully developed as a targeted formulation to support people as they move through mid-life and beyond. Guy has very generously invited me to be involved in supporting and promoting this, and I’m genuinely excited about where this may lead.
At the same time, Guy is advancing the Younger Longer platform, which is now coming together rapidly. We are very close to beta testing, and I’m really looking forward to sharing this more broadly with the community.
👉 If you’d like to stay connected with this and future developments, I’d encourage you to share this newsletter with friends and invite them to join the free community here:
https://healthyheartnetwork.com/page/community
The goal is simple — to provide ongoing, practical health information and give people access to emerging ideas and opportunities in the healthspan and longevity space.
Cholesterol Explained
Another exciting milestone this week — the hardcover proof copy of Cholesterol Explained has arrived.
Penny has already taken it away for a final detailed review, and it’s a very tangible reminder that we’re getting very close to launch.
I’m increasingly being asked by patients when it will be available, which is encouraging — there’s clearly strong interest in having clear, practical information in this space.
More to come very soon… reach out if you are after a pre-order.
🎧 Podcast Highlight – Episode 430
Cancer Journey and IV Clinics with Rosy McEvedy
This week’s podcast is a really important and personal conversation, exploring aspects of the cancer journey alongside the evolving role of IV clinics in supporting patients.
It’s a thoughtful discussion around care, options, and how we think about supporting people through complex health challenges.

🎧 Podcast – Coming Soon
I also had a terrific conversation this week with Danielle around C15 fatty acids — including the fascinating story behind its discovery and the emerging science around its role in health.
It’s a really interesting discussion and one I think many of you will enjoy.
Keep an eye out — that episode will be released shortly.
🚗 A Small Personal Note
Chelle and I have also been reviewing our transport setup.
The Corolla has served us well, and the Land Rover has been great — but we’ve been considering how best to round things out moving forward.
Sometimes it’s about making sure the practical pieces of life are aligned as well.
📅 Open Day – Coming Up
We’re now actively preparing for our upcoming Open Day on Saturday April 18th.
This will include:
• OsteoStrong
• Longevity Labs IV
• Breath Labs
We’re particularly excited to offer guided breathwork sessions, giving people the opportunity to experience first-hand how powerful breathwork can be for nervous system regulation, recovery and overall wellbeing.
If you’re in the Hobart area and would like to attend, please let us know — we’d love to see you there.
🎥 YouTube Highlights
This week I thought I’d reshare a previous video that continues to generate important discussion:

And for something a little lighter — but still health-related — here’s a clip from a few years ago featuring Charles Woolley:

Quiz Answer – Last Week
Last week’s question:
What is lipoprotein(a), and why can it matter even when standard cholesterol levels look reasonable?
Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is a genetically determined cholesterol particle.
Even when LDL cholesterol levels are well controlled, elevated Lp(a) can independently increase cardiovascular risk.
It is not significantly modified by lifestyle and is often under-recognised — which is why testing can be important in selected individuals.
Quiz Corner – Week 77
This week’s question:
What is chelation, and what are the common metals it is used to remove?
We’ll unpack that next week.
(And yes — chelation is something we are able to offer through Longevity Labs IV.)
Gratitude
This week I’m grateful for:
• A busy but productive week
• The opportunity to teach and present
• Family milestones and connection
• Steady business momentum
• And the continued opportunity to build something meaningful
Thank you for being part of this journey.
