Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
Hello & welcome,
Some weeks feel quietly encouraging.
Not dramatic. Not overwhelming. Just steady progress, meaningful conversations, and the sense that the work you’ve been doing is beginning to come together.
This past week felt like one of those.
Family & Personal Highlights
Chelle and I are actually on our way today to the Red Hot Summer Tour, which should be a fantastic day. The lineup includes Paul Kelly, The Cat Empire, Missy Higgins and Kasey Chambers — a wonderful collection of Australian music.
Even better, Ella and Tallam will be there, along with our good friends Michael and Jen. We’re also hoping to meet Tallam’s parents while we’re there, which adds another really special dimension to the day.
Moments like that — music, family, friendship and shared experiences — are incredibly valuable.
I’ve also had some really valuable conversations this week with Ella, Max and Sean. Those moments of connection always reset perspective and remind me how fortunate I am.
Another exciting milestone arrived this week as well — the very first physical proof copy of THE CHOLESTEROL book turned up. It’s a softcover proof, but seeing the book in print for the first time was incredibly satisfying.
As you might guess, Penny was at our house within hours to collect it and begin scrutinising every detail. I’m enormously grateful for the work she has put into helping bring this project together. It’s a great reminder that anything worthwhile is always a team effort.
OsteoStrong Hobart
Downstairs at OsteoStrong the momentum continues.
We’ve now reached 200 members and remain one of the fastest growing OsteoStrong centre in Australia, which really reflects the commitment, consistency and energy of our team. We had a visit from Summer from Head Office this week to help with Sales Training - appreciated.
We are also working on organising additional community talks to help spread awareness about osteogenic loading and its role in bone health, strength and resilience.
Our message continues to broaden beyond bone density alone.
Yes, bone matters — but so do:
• Strength
• Balance
• Confidence
• Frailty prevention
• Independence
That broader framing continues to resonate strongly.
If you’re curious whether OsteoStrong might be right for you or someone you care about, simply reply to this email and we’ll happily guide you.
Longevity Labs & What’s Building
Upstairs at Longevity Labs the evolution continues.
We’re continuing to build services focused on recovery, resilience and nervous system regulation.
NuCalm
Chelle and I have both been using the NuCalm app regularly over the past few weeks and have found it genuinely helpful for relaxation, focus and sleep support.
If you’re curious about exploring it yourself, you can start with a 7-day free trial.

If you decide to subscribe you’re welcome to use the code: DrWarrickNuCalm
which provides 15% off any subscription... for life!
For transparency, NuCalm does recognise me as an affiliate, so there may be a small benefit to me if people choose to subscribe through that code — but the main reason I mention it is simply because Chelle and I have found it genuinely useful, and the code will give you a valuable discount.
C15 Fatty Acid (Fatty15)
We continue to take C15 daily.
I’m also getting closer to recording a podcast interview with one of the scientists from the Fatty15 organisation, which I’m really looking forward to.
The emerging science around cellular membrane stability and metabolic health is fascinating and continuing to evolve.

As always, context matters — but it’s one I’m comfortable using personally. Again for transparency, Fatty15 does recognise me as an affiliate, so there may be a small benefit to me if people choose to subscribe through that code — but the main reason I mention it is simply because Chelle and I have found it genuinely useful, and the code will give you a valuable discount.
Podcast this Week – Episode 428 : https://drwarrickbishop.com/podcast/episode/1/ep428-air-induction-cooktops
Induction Cooktops & Pacemakers
A question that comes up surprisingly often is whether modern induction cooktops are safe for people living with pacemakers.
In this episode I unpack:
• How induction cooktops actually work
• Why pacemaker interference was once a concern
• What the current evidence tells us
• Practical guidance for people living with implanted cardiac devices
If you or someone you care about has a pacemaker or defibrillator, this may be a useful one to share.

Coming Soon – Two Fascinating Conversations
I also recorded a couple of really interesting podcast conversations this week that will be released soon.
One is with Dr Diana Bueno, a dentist with a deep interest in oral health and its connection to systemic disease. The episode will be titled “Wash Your Mouth Out.” We explored the fascinating relationship between the oral microbiome, gut health, inflammation and chronic disease. It’s a conversation that really highlights how interconnected the body’s systems are.
I also had the chance to catch up with Rosy McEvedy, founder of IV League clinics in Sydney. Rosy has been a pioneer in the IV therapy space in Australia, and our discussion explored the evolving role of IV therapies, clinical oversight and the future of metabolic and recovery medicine.
Both conversations were terrific and well worth keeping an eye out for when they are released.
Healthy Life Network Community
If you’d like free education updates and ongoing health content:
https://healthyheartnetwork.com/page/community ➡️ please share this link as I really would appreciate the chance to reach more people and share resources.
This platform continues to evolve as we broaden the conversation from heart health alone toward healthspan and longevity.
Quiz Answer – Last Week
Last week’s question asked about the difference between:
• CT scans
• PET scans
• Bone scans
In simple terms:
CT Scan
Provides detailed structural imaging using X-rays. It shows anatomy — organs, bones and tissues.
PET Scan
Measures metabolic activity in tissues using a radioactive tracer. It highlights areas where cells are more metabolically active, which can indicate inflammation, infection or cancer.
Bone Scan
Detects changes in bone metabolism, often identifying fractures, metastases or areas of bone repair before they appear on standard imaging.
Each test provides different information — structure, function, or metabolic activity.
Quiz Corner – This Week
This week’s question:
What are the most common causes of neuropathy, and what symptoms do people typically experience?
And what symptoms might people notice?
We’ll unpack the answer next week.
Gratitude
This week I’m grateful for:
• Seeing the first proof copy of the book arrive
• Supportive colleagues and collaborators
• Meaningful conversations with family
• The privilege of continuing to learn, teach and contribute
Thank you for being part of this journey.
