Hi {contactfield=firstname},

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

Hello & welcome,

Some weeks feel quietly expansive.

Not dramatic. Not chaotic. Just steady momentum, meaningful connection, and a sense that the foundations being laid are beginning to hold weight.

This past week felt like that.

Family & Personal Highlights

We had a relaxed dinner with friends midweek — the kind of evening that reminds you how important simple connection is. Good conversation. No rush. Just nice.

Yesterday we attended a wedding — a beautiful celebration filled with warmth, joy, and genuine connection in the atmosphere. Moments like that remind you that community and shared milestones matter.

Dad has been in hospital with significant back pain, but has now had surgery and, pleasingly, appears to be on the mend. We’ll be taking in a PEMF mat today to support inflammation reduction and bone healing during recovery — something I’m genuinely excited about... see below. We are hiring these at the moment, so please reach out if you would like more information.

And in amongst all of that, Chelle continues to pour energy into both OsteoStrong and our Airbnb, which is once again receiving regular five-star reviews — a testament to her attention to detail and care.

Sean has been doing excellent work in Longevity Labs, building out the administrative and electronic foundations of the business. Sarah continues to do a fantastic job clinically, and we’re now looking to employ another nurse so we can expand our hours.

There is something powerful about steady, disciplined growth.

OsteoStrong Hobart

Downstairs, we’ve now reached 200 members.

We are currently the fastest-growing OsteoStrong centre in Australia — which is entirely a credit to the energy, focus, and consistency of our team. We genuinely couldn’t do it without them.

Our message continues to broaden beyond bone density alone. Yes, bone matters — but so do:

• Strength
• Balance
• Confidence
• Frailty prevention
• Independence

That wider framing is resonating.

If you’d like to explore whether OsteoStrong may be right for you or someone you care about, simply reply to this email and we’ll guide you.

Longevity Labs, PEMF & What’s Building

Upstairs at Longevity Labs, things are evolving in a really exciting way.

We’ve secured the opportunity for me to present to the orthopaedic surgeons of Hobart at their upcoming journal club, specifically around our PEMF mat hire service to support patients undergoing elective joint surgery.

If you or someone you know is heading toward joint replacement surgery and would like to know more about how PEMF may support recovery and bone healing, please let us know — we’re happy to provide information.

We’ve also had fantastic support from Corbin Halliday locally, who has been attending LLIV regularly, finding benefit, and generously sharing his experience. When someone speaks authentically about their own health journey, it carries real impact.

And behind the scenes, we’re continuing to shape our breathwork offering upstairs, with a likely launch in the coming weeks. If you’ve never tried guided breathwork, it can be transformative — particularly for autonomic regulation, stress resilience, and recovery.

Stay tuned.

Cholesterol Explained

The book is now formally with the publisher.

We’re beginning discussions around print runs, formats, and launch strategy. It’s an exciting phase — moving from writing and refining to preparing for release.

More soon.

🎧 Podcast Highlight – Episode 427

Talking Sports Cardiology with Dr Bavishi

When does intense exercise protect the heart?
When might high-volume endurance training carry potential risk?
What should athletes — and recreational exercisers — actually monitor?

This is a thoughtful, evidence-based discussion around performance, prevention, and perspective.

Quiz Answer – Last Week

Creatine: Beyond Muscle Strength

Beyond muscle performance, two evidence-based benefits of creatine supplementation include:

• Brain health support, particularly in high-demand cognitive states
• Improved cellular energy availability through enhanced ATP regeneration

Creatine is fundamentally about energy metabolism — not just biceps.

Quiz Corner – Week #73

This week’s question:

What is the difference between:

• A CT scan
• A PET scan
• A Bone scan

What does each one actually measure?

Think about structure versus function versus metabolic activity.

We’ll unpack that next week.

Gratitude

This week I’m grateful for:

• Community celebrations
• Steady business growth rather than forced expansion
• Supportive colleagues
• Family relationships and resilience
• And the privilege of meaningful work

Thank you for being part of this journey.
