Hi {contactfield=firstname},

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

Hello & welcome,

I hope this finds you well.

Some weeks feel busy. Others quietly reassure you that you’re moving in the right direction.
This past week felt like one of those - steady progress, meaningful conversations, and good things taking shape across family and work.

Family & Personal Reflections

One of the real highlights recently was a lovely evening catching up with Ella and Tallam for dinner. Seeing my daughter genuinely happy, grounded, and settled was deeply reassuring. Those moments have a way of cutting through everything else and reminding you what truly matters.

Chelle has also been in a wonderful space - looking after herself and now the units, bringing great energy, and doing it all with warmth and love. That steadiness at home makes a bigger difference than I probably ever articulate.

We’re also in the early stages of planning a family trip later this year, with the kids, to visit Max while he’s in Samoa and see how he’s been living. The chance to spend that time together feels genuinely exciting.

I’ve also enjoyed reconnecting with friends - the kind of conversations that leave you feeling lighter and quietly grateful for the people you share life with.

Health, Presence & Perspective

I recently took part in a guided breathwork session that was both calming and grounding. It was a good reminder of how much our bodies respond to rhythm, breath, and stillness - and how important it is to occasionally slow things down.

Moments like that reinforce why I believe health is about far more than numbers and diagnoses - it’s about how we feel in our bodies and how well we’re able to stay present in our lives.

If anyone is interested in exploring breathwork locally here in Hobart, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

OsteoStrong, Longevity Labs & What’s Building

There’s been some really encouraging momentum across the work front.

At OsteoStrong, the team and I have signed up a number of new members recently - always a reminder of why we do what we do. We’re also expanding the conversation beyond bones alone, toward strength, balance, confidence, and independence as we age.

If you’d like to explore whether OsteoStrong might be right for you - or for someone you care about - simply reply to this email and we can point you in the right direction.

At Longevity Labs, alongside our IV offerings, opportunities continue to open up around recovery, stretch and movement, nervous system regulation, and helping people reconnect with their bodies in safe, supportive ways. There’s still work to do, but the direction feels right.

I also had a very positive meeting with the Medical Director of a major local health insurer, followed by a constructive exchange by email. These conversations - bridging prevention, wellness, and mainstream healthcare - are exactly where I believe the future sits.

Behind the scenes, Cholesterol Explained continues to move steadily toward completion. Penny is currently deep in the indexing phase - a meticulous and demanding task - and I’m incredibly grateful for the care and persistence she’s bringing to that final stretch.

✅ Quiz Answer - Last Week

Brainwaves & Their Functions

Here’s how the brainwave states match up:

  • A) Delta (≤ 4 Hz)Deep sleep and physical restoration

  • B) Theta (≈ 5–6 Hz)Deep recovery, memory consolidation, and cellular repair

  • C) Alpha (≈ 8–12 Hz)Calm alertness, creativity, and problem-solving

  • D) Mid-Beta (≈ 15–20 Hz)Focus, concentration, and active thinking

  • E) Gamma (≈ 30–40+ Hz)Peak performance, learning, and high-level cognitive processing

💡 A Mnemonic to try:
