Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
Hello & welcome,
Some weeks feel steady.
Others quietly confirm that you’re moving in the right direction.
This has been one of those reassuring weeks - good family news, solid momentum across the clinics, and some exciting developments taking shape in the background.
Family & Personal Highlights
Max continues to do well in Samoa. His girlfriend has now headed home, and from all accounts he’s in a good space and settling into island life.
Ella remains in Vietnam, having the adventure of a lifetime and soaking up experiences that will stay with her forever.
Chelle is genuinely energised by taking back the reins of the Airbnb. She’s throwing herself into it with enthusiasm and vision - and it’s been lovely to see her so fired up about what’s possible.
We caught up with Dad and Anne on Friday night, which was a really good connection, and last night we had friends over for Thai takeaway and watched the women’s tennis final - simple, relaxed, and just what was needed.
Professional & Business Updates
Healthy Heart Network → Healthy Life Network
The Healthy Heart Network is now evolving into the Healthy Life Network - a broader platform focused not just on avoiding illness, but on supporting healthspan, energy, and independence across life.
I have a meeting with John this week where we’ll be working through how the community will look, and how different tiers of offering can give people the information and support they want at a level that suits them.
I’ll also be sharing my own journey along the way, I will be reporting on my experience with IV vits, minerals, NAD+, Peptides, hormones and chelation...watch this space.
I’m very excited to be planning this next phase alongside Dr Sally Chapman, a highly respected and experienced integrative GP here in Hobart with a particular interest in hormone balancing and gut health. I have enormous respect for Sally’s work, and I believe this collaboration will add real depth and practicality to what we offer.
More to come soon.
Cholesterol Explained – almost there
A quick book update: Cholesterol Explained is currently with Penny for indexing, and we’re aiming to have that completed this week before it heads to John for production. It’s a great feeling to be this close...very excited, let us know if you are after a pre-order.
On the marketing side, I’m mapping out the next steps and also exploring the idea of teaming up with Ella to help drive the Australian launch.
NuCalm – calming the nervous system, on demand
This week I want to highlight NuCalm, an app and platform that uses sound technology to guide the brain through different brainwave states — supporting deep sleep, recovery, relaxation, focus, and peak mental performance...stay tuned, the podcast with Jim Poole the CEO of the company is coming very soon.

OsteoStrong Hobart
We’re expanding how we talk about OsteoStrong. While bone strength remains important, we’re increasingly focused on helping people maintain strength, balance, and independence as they age — including those living with frailty or chronic pain.
If you’d like to explore whether this might be right for you or someone you care about, just reply to this email.
Longevity Labs IV (LLIV)
Our IV therapy service continues to grow steadily, which is encouraging. More people are recognising the role targeted nutrient therapy can play in energy, recovery, and resilience.
If IV therapy is something you’d like to learn more about, feel free to reply to this email and we can point you in the right direction.

Quiz Corner
This week’s quiz — match the brainwave to its function
Below are five brainwave states and five functions.
Can you match them up?
Brainwaves (with approximate frequency):
A) Delta (≤ 4 Hz)
B) Theta (≈ 5–6 Hz)
C) Alpha (≈ 8–12 Hz, often ~10 Hz)
D) Mid-Beta (≈ 15–20 Hz, often ~18 Hz)
E) Gamma (≈ 30–40+ Hz)
Functions (out of order):
-
Peak performance, learning, and high-level cognitive processing
-
Deep sleep and physical restoration
-
Calm alertness, creativity, and problem-solving
-
Focus, concentration, and active thinking
-
Deep recovery, memory consolidation, and cellular repair
Answers next week. (I'll give you a clue... try "Gamma for Go", "Delta to Dream" and "Beta for Busy"
