Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
We’ve officially touched back down in Australia — a little weary from the travel but full of energy for what’s ahead. There’s plenty brewing, so let’s jump straight in.
🧬 Longevity Labs Takes Shape
After much planning and dreaming, Longevity Labs is our final name — a new venture I’m developing with James, Moonmoon and Chelle.
We’re exploring:
It’s an exciting direction focused on healthy ageing, optimisation, and recovery.
📘 Cholesterol Explained — Almost There
The absolute final draft is on my desk right now. I’m one-third of the way through the final read — it’s looking fantastic and packed with insights, including key learnings from the World Congress of Clinical Lipidology.
🏋️♂️ OsteoStrong Hobart & Team Expansion
Things are ticking along at OsteoStrong Hobart, with a huge boost incoming:
James will join us next week in person, and from mid-August, James, Moonmoon, and their daughter Tashi will spend a month with us. They’re also hoping to gain some training at the Melbourne centre in the lead-up.
🏥 “Don’t Die on the Way to the Supplement Store”
I’m working with St Luke’s Health on a follow-up educational series to our CAC pilot.
The working title:
“Don’t Die on the Way to the Supplement Store”
Blunt, perhaps — but it lands the message. Watch this space.

Coming soon: A powerful conversation with Chris Henry, who reached out after following my advice to get a heart scan… which revealed severe coronary disease. He’s now recovering from open-heart surgery.

Also released:
🧊 Life at Home
Jetlag is behind us.
I’m back experimenting with my coffee machine after some great advice from Jet Black Espresso — now using the double group head with impressive results.
Also tracking my weight daily again. After gaining 2.5 kg while away, I’ve returned to my pre-holiday weight through simple daily accountability, eating well, and skipping the Austrian beers! The body composition scales I use were key.
Meanwhile, the cellar thermometer is now running — with about a 2°C variation in the empty cellar. I expect it’ll stabilise once stocked.
👨👩👧👦 Family Corner
-
Max is settling into Samoa, despite a hiccup — the courses he enrolled in appear to be unavailable! No doubt he’ll problem-solve his way through.
-
Ella is back to study, and dropping by for guitar and dinner.
-
Sean enjoyed a good friends recent engagement party — a good distraction after the Demons lost to Carlton.
-
I also caught up with Dad for dinner — and walked home through a classic freezing Hobart winter gale.
✅ Featured Reminders
🧠 Body Composition Scales
I still recommend these — incredibly helpful for tracking fat %, visceral fat, muscle mass, and more.
