Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
It’s been another full and fascinating week — big steps forward in long-term projects, some great family news, and a podcast episode I think you’ll want to catch.
📚 From My Desk – Edits, Challenges, and Countdown to Europe
We are so close to wrapping up Cholesterol Explained. With the insightful foreword now penned by Professor Gerald Watts — one of the world’s foremost experts in familial hypercholesterolaemia — the book is gaining its final polish. His contribution is generous, timely, and adds real gravitas.
Dr. Karam has updated his portrait images ready for the new book, Penny’s been refining the editorial threads, and we’re working through some of the final comments from Prof. Watts himself. We’re aiming to have this off to print very soon!
Also we are watching this spce for the Guy Leech, Younger Longer platform, I understand there will be a first month free trial when launched, let me know if you might be interested in checking it out, I have two challenges with the team already:
✔️ The 28-Day Heart Health Challenge
✔️ The 14-Day Blood Pressure Challenge
On a personal note, a dear friend of ours, Sandy has taken up making knives and operating a forge in recent years and had committed to making a kitchen knife for Chelle and I as our wedding present. I'm extremely excited to say this has now been completed. It is a beautiful hand forged 20 cm blade with a fantastic piece of myrtle, local Tasmania wood, as the handle. We are now just looking for a time to go and visit Joan and Sandy in Adelaide and pick it up...... can't wait.
And yes… a 14-Day Cholesterol Challenge is brewing in my mind — especially with the book as its backbone. But Europe is just around the corner, so time will tell if I can pull it together before we fly.

It’s an exciting time, full of meaningful conversations and growing community engagement.
Still working to grow our PEMF therapy offering — despite some initial setbacks with hospital literature inclusion, we’ll be pivoting to direct education and outreach to get the word out.

🏡 Home Front – Family Time & A Bit of Wine
We had a beautiful dinner celebrating Chelle’s dad’s 79th birthday — made extra special by seeing Sean and Ella together with the family.
Max is up in Townsville, working as a groundsman and doing some support work — but the really exciting news?
He received his GAMSAT results, and scored well enough to gain entry to medical school if he chooses that path. A big deal, and we’re so proud.
Meanwhile, my office is almost sorted (thanks to Chelle’s heroic efforts). The last obstacle? Twelve boxes of wine waiting to move into the wine cellar, which I'm very excited to say was completed this week!
🎳 Highlights & Heartstrings
We wrapped up the week with an emotional and inspiring night at the Make-A-Wish Foundation Ball. OsteoStrong hosted a table, and hearing the stories of the "Wish" children and their families reminded us all of the importance of hope and generosity. A truly moving evening — and a privilege to attend.
