Hi {contactfield=firstname}

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

Another week has flown by, and once again, there’s plenty to share—both professionally and personally!

Catching Up with Family

Monday night was a special one, as Chelle and I had the chance to catch up with my cousin Tony and his wife while they visited Hobart and Tasmania for a holiday. It’s always great to reconnect, share stories, and enjoy good food together.

Speaking to GPs About Cardiac Care

Tuesday night, I had the privilege of speaking to a group of GPs on current approaches to cardiac failure management and cholesterol lowering. The discussion focused on the four (or five!) pillars of heart failure treatment and the latest in cholesterol-lowering therapies, including PCSK9 inhibitors for high-risk ASCVD patients. A fantastic opportunity to share insights and discuss how we can continue improving patient care. There were lots of questions and patient oriented discussion.

A Trip to Sydney – Family First

On Wednesday, I traveled to Sydney for a very important reason—the memorial service for my sister Michele’s husband, Paul. Being there with family was invaluable, and moments like these remind us of the importance of love, support, and connection. It also serves to remind us of how fast time and life pass.

Moving Week (Almost!)

Back home, Chelle has been working hard getting our new place ready. The mattress arrives mid-week, and we’re hoping to finally move in then! The new TV is installed and hooked up, and while I’ve got it sorted, I’m still figuring out my new coffee machine settings—I’ll get there eventually!

Max’s Fishing Adventures in Tonga

Max is loving the fishing over in Tonga. He landed a 5–10 kg Giant Trevally from the rocks on a light line—a very exciting catch! He’s also had a bit of a rough patch with an ear infection and abscess, but thankfully, he’s now on the mend.

Ella’s First Uni Test & Balancing Work & Study

Ella has been juggling uni and work, and I’m proud to share that she did really well in her first test—a great start to her studies. It’s fantastic to see her getting into the swing of things.

Cholesterol Book – The Rush is On!

I’m deep into reviewing and editing my upcoming book, Cholesterol Explained, aware that the deadline is looming. We’re pushing to have it ready for the World Congress of Clinical Lipidology in June, so the pressure is on!
