Hi {contactfield=firstname}

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

It’s starting to feel like Christmas and New Year’s are already in the rear-view mirror!

With work resuming, I’ve had a couple of days consulting, and I must say that without the pressure of being on call, it’s been a very pleasant experience. It’s given me the chance to connect with patients in a more relaxed way, without the usual sense of urgency.

Chelle and I ventured out to try a new restaurant, Little Borneo. To my surprise, Chelle enjoyed an eggplant dish—something she usually avoids—and then topped off the evening with baklava from the local kebab shop. Two new culinary experiences for her in one night!

Last weekend, Chelle and I went for a bike ride—my first in a very long time. It was great to get out and move the legs, though I have to admit I was sore for a couple of days afterward.

We also had the privilege of attending the Hobart International Tennis as guests of WIN Television. It was a fantastic experience—we caught up with old friends, made some new ones, and enjoyed watching high-quality tennis.

On the home front, Chelle and I have moved back to The Glass House and are busy tidying it up as we prepare for the settlement date on 31 January. Packing my wine cellar is shaping up to be one of the biggest jobs ahead!

Max is currently on an adventurous bushwalk, heading to Federation Peak. It’s a challenging climb deep in southwest Tasmania, and one I remember well from my younger days. As a parent, I can’t help but worry about his safety, but I also know that the best adventures are the ones that push you beyond your comfort zone.

Ella has been in Sydney with her Grand Dad for family-related reasons, and from what I hear, they had a wonderful trip.

On the business side, we’re gearing up to officially launch our Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy hire and sales service.

Even though we haven’t formally started, several members have already taken advantage of the mats and the Vibe personal PEMF device. I’m excited about the potential of this service and look forward to seeing more people benefit from it.

I’m also thrilled to share that I’ve become involved with Guy Leech’s Younger:Longer initiative. This exciting project will serve as a comprehensive portal to health,longevity, and wellness. I’m looking forward to contributing to its mission of empowering individuals to live healthier, longer lives.

On the writing front, I’m awaiting feedback on the cholesterol book from Associate Professor Dr. Christian Hamilton-Craig. The current version is also with my good friend and co-writer Dr. Karam Kostner, who is reviewing it as we refine and rewrite until it’s just right. I’m optimistic we’ll have it ready by midyear.

Wishing you all the very best,
Warm regards,
