Hi {contactfield=firstname}

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

As Christmas approaches, I find myself reflecting on what has been a truly remarkable year. I’d love to take a moment to share some highlights with you and wish you a joyful holiday season.

This year has been full of personal milestones. I celebrated my 60th birthday and married Chelle in a small, intimate ceremony surrounded by family and cherished friends. Having the presence of our loved ones, both in person and in spirit, made it a profoundly meaningful day. The very next day, we agreed on a contract for a new home in Sandy Bay. We’ll officially settle in February 2025, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for us.

Our family has also grown in beautiful ways. Chelle’s son, Sean, has been able to put some of life’s challenges and frustrations behind him and is now looking ahead with optimism. My son, Max, has excelled academically and is pursuing opportunities abroad, Tonga, with a prestigious DFAT scholarship. My daughter, Ella, after a European adventure, sang beautifully at our wedding—there wasn’t a dry eye in sight! It’s been a joy to see all our children, young adults, thriving.

Professionally, it’s been a rewarding year. The St. Luke’s Health pilot program for calcium scoring has shown tremendous potential in early detection of heart disease. The data we’ve gathered reinforces how impactful prevention can be. I’ve also had the privilege of hosting thought-provoking podcast interviews, from exploring PEMF therapy with Dr. Har Hari to discussing women’s cardiovascular health with Dr. Fiona Foo.

Amid all this, I’ve also been working hard on my upcoming book, Cholesterol Explained. It’s been an exciting process, and I’ve drawn on insights from research, professional experience, and feedback from readers like you.

If you’re still looking for that perfect Christmas gift, why not consider one of my books? Whether it’s The 10 Commandments of Heart Health Explained or another title, they make thoughtful presents for those you care about. [Check it out here].

As you celebrate this season, I hope you find time to relax, connect with loved ones, and savor the joy of the holidays. Thank you for being part of my journey this year—your support and engagement mean so much to me.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. May your holidays be filled with love, laughter, and happiness..... and of course a healthy heart ( and bones)
