Hi {contactfield=firstname},
From My Desk...
Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
Hello & welcome,
A warm note this week from Costa Rica, where Chelle and I have landed after completing Tony Robbins’ Date With Destiny. Big days, big energy, and plenty of perspective — the kind that stays with you long after the event finishes.
We’ve still got nearly another week here before heading on to Panama, then home in time for New Year celebrations, but I wanted to check in and share a few updates.
Family & Personal
• Date With Destiny wrapped up earlier in the week — an extraordinary experience. Powerful, challenging, and deeply reaffirming around ownership: of health, mindset, relationships, and purpose.
• Chelle and I marked a special milestone — celebrating our first wedding anniversary on my 61st birthday, right in the middle of the Robbins event. A moment we’ll both always remember.
• Sean is really finding his feet across OsteoStrong Hobart and Longevity Lab IV — growing in confidence and capability week by week.
• Ella has been a little under the weather — on the mend and well cared for.
• Max continues his Samoa adventure and is due to meet with the Prime Minister of Samoa today regarding a visa issue — an unexpected but memorable life experience, and a reminder of how adaptable he’s becoming.
As always, plenty of gratitude — for family, close friends, meaningful work, and the ability to keep learning and growing.
Hobart & Business Updates
• OsteoStrong Hobart (OSH): The centre continues to hum along beautifully. Sean and Miranda are well embedded, and the feedback around warmth, professionalism, and flow at the front desk has been lovely to hear.
• Longevity Lab IV (LLIV): Steady, positive momentum. Sarah continues to be an absolute rock, and early client feedback remains very encouraging.
• New tool in the mix: Chelle and I have started using a NuCalm package to support sleep quality and power napping. Early impressions are excellent — more on this once we’ve had longer with it.
Learning, Conferences & the Book 📘
• World Congress of Clinical Lipidology (Vienna): Still reflecting on what a truly outstanding meeting it was, expertly convened by Karam. The science, debate, and practical takeaways were first class.
• Cholesterol Explained: This one is very exciting — the book is now in the very, very final stages and about to go to print. After years of thinking, writing, refining, and learning, seeing it move toward the printer feels both surreal and deeply satisfying.
