Each week, I'll be sharing a little about what's happening in my world — whether it's in my role as a cardiologist, the work I'm doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what's been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.
Subject: 🌍 From the Centre of the Earth to the Galápagos — Healing Journeys, Birthdays & Big Steps Ahead
Hello & Welcome!
Greetings from the Galápagos Islands, where Chelle and I are wrapping up an unforgettable leg of our South American adventure. We began in Quito, standing at the Centre of the Earth (zero latitude), exploring the old town, and unwinding in the Pallacante hot springs — before heading here to witness the astonishing wildlife of the Galápagos: sea turtles, blacktip and hammerhead sharks, playful seals, and schools of vibrant fish. It's been both humbling and exhilarating.
🎂 Family Highlights
Back home, Ella celebrated her 20th birthday with a wonderful party — a proud moment for us as parents. Meanwhile, Sean and Miranda have done an outstanding job managing OsteoStrong Hobart in our absence, ensuring that everything continues to run seamlessly.
💧 Professional Updates
Our IV therapy service in Hobart is now ready for business. We're currently offering opening specials for anyone interested in vitamin and mineral infusions to support recovery, performance, and wellbeing. If you'd like to learn more or book a session, just reply to this email or drop by the centre — we'd love to chat.....just respond to this email.
On the publishing front, my latest book, Cholesterol Explained, is now with its final readers before it comes back to me for what should be the very last review. The finish line is in sight!
🎙 Podcast Highlight – Healing with PEMF
This week's featured episode is one close to my heart: 🎧 Ep 408 – Talking PEMF and Joint Replacement Surgery with Candice Johnston
In this conversation we explore how pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy may support healing and recovery after joint replacement surgery — by enhancing circulation, reducing inflammation, and accelerating tissue repair. If you or someone you know is preparing for or recovering from surgery, PEMF may be a valuable adjunct to their healing journey. 👉 Reach out directly if you'd like to learn more about how we use PEMF therapy at OsteoStrong and Longevity Lab Hobart.
✅ Featured Reminder
Curious about IV vitamin and mineral infusions? They can boost hydration, recovery, and energy at a cellular level — and our Hobart centre has special introductory offers right now. Get in touch if you'd like details or a consultation.
💡 Quiz Corner
Last Week's Answer: The Galápagos Islands inspired Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection.
This Week's Question: In the Amazon Basin, there's a tiny parasitic fish with a notorious (and largely exaggerated) reputation for swimming up the human urethra. What is this fish called? (Answer next week!)
❤️ Final Reflection
Whether exploring coral reefs or clinical innovations, the common thread is curiosity — and the belief that discovery drives better health. From the Amazon to Hobart, may we all keep learning, healing, and living fully.
