Hi {contactfield=firstname},

From My Desk...

Each week, I’ll be sharing a little about what’s happening in my world—whether it’s in my role as a cardiologist, the work I’m doing with the Healthy Heart Network and our new Healthy Life Network, or even personal updates from my family and life. My goal is to give you a closer look at what’s been keeping me busy, while also sharing tips and insights to help you on your own heart health journey. I hope you enjoy these updates and find them helpful as you strive to live well and stay healthy.

As I write this, Chelle and I are on the final leg of our river cruise, having left Budapest nearly 2 weeks ago, we are now heading toward Amsterdam — and what a journey it has been. From the towering majesty of Cologne Cathedral, to the medieval charm of Rothenburg, and the baroque beauty of Würzburg, this trip has been rich in history, reflection, and a welcome pause before the next wave of projects....check out my Facebook page if you are interested in the details and pics.

We’ll soon transition from leisure to learning, as we head to Vienna for the 4th World Congress of Clinical Lipidology — a landmark event where I’ll be sharing insights from Cholesterol Explained and connecting with global colleagues committed to tackling cardiovascular risk through precision medicine.

🎙 This Week’s Podcast: Gut Microbiome, Blood Pressure & Mental Wellbeing

This episode explores the fascinating links between your gut bacteria, blood pressure regulation, and mental health. We now know the gut-brain-heart axis is real — and understanding it could unlock new paths for prevention and healing.

📘 Cholesterol Explained – Just About There

We’re applying final touches now. The launch is set to align with the Cardiac Society Meeting in Brisbane this August. Feedback continues to shape it into a truly practical and empowering guide for those navigating cholesterol and heart health decisions.

🏋️ Vitality Hub & OsteoStrong

While we’ve been cruising, James, Moonmoon, and the team have kept the wheels turning on the Vitality Hub expansion and OsteoStrong Hobart. When we return, I’ll be sharing updates and early visuals for this exciting space — designed for VO₂max testing, recovery modalities, and healthy aging strategies.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Update

  • Max has officially completed his Open Water Scuba Diving qualification — a great milestone!

  • Ella is recovering after a demanding exam period and now enjoying some well-earned rest.

  • Sean is doing well and remains steadfast in his support for the Demons.

  • We also celebrated my father’s birthday — I gifted him a Crystal Palace FA Cup Winners T-shirt (he was thrilled!).

And of course, Chelle continues to be a wonderful support and travel companion on this journey.
